(I hope you read that in the style of Mrs. Doubtfire)
I'm Alex! Welcome to my little slice of internet! I'm supercalifragilisticexpialidocious-ly (?) happy you're here!!
About two years ago I felt a tug in my heart to change the way I live. To downsize, to simplify, to choose less. I ignored that tug for a year. I convinced myself it was too difficult.
I used to think living an eco-friendly life meant overhauling my life in one big swoop, probably because I’m a recovering perfectionist.
Luckily, it doesn’t!
I truly, honestly believe we can start small.
One small change today is better than none. That’s why my site is called Tinted Green. I love the concept of taking our lifestyles and greening one part of it, then another, and so on.
That’s been my method and I can tell you that it’s been better for my sanity than trying to force myself to go full zero waste in a week or month or whatever.⠀
I know I have a long way to go. I'm still learning how to do this simple living thing.
But I have a heart for this planet. I always have.
My mission is to be a better steward of the environment.
My dream is to inspire you to do the same.
This blog is a no-judgement zone. This is an imperfect process but I'm willing to get uncomfortable if it means helping someone start. I want show that small changes count and I want to celebrate those little steps! Because let's be honest, some days are hard and the fact that I remembered to put my water bottle in my purse is a triumph.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE BLOG
I know moving towards a green lifestyle can be overwhelming. Trust me when I say I've been there. Eco-living has so many sides to it and it can be hard to decide where to start. To help make the first steps as easy as possible, I'll talk about eco-friendly swaps anyone can implement. The best part is, most of us have what we need to ditch disposables in our homes already!
I love being outside. Connecting to creation and experiencing nature is my favorite way to decompress. But I also believe that the more we connect to the awesome wonder of our planet, the more we realize how perfectly crafted it is, the more likely we are to care about how we use it (hopefully). One of my resolutions is to go on 12 hikes in 12 months so you're bound to see lots of nature.
A year later and I'm still learning how to best plan my seasonal wardrobes. I share how I style the pieces in my capsule wardrobes, the lessons I've learned from each season, plus how to plan a capsule of your very own!

That's right! I've got a YouTube channel! I upload every Monday and talk about my capsule wardrobes, my cruelty-free beauty faves, and general tree hugging things! Check it out here!
